When Magic Johnson and Larry Bird were reaching the end of their careers, the NBA needed a new star to keep their popularity. Michael Jordan was that star. Drafted in 1984, "MJ" became the most popular, and arguably the most successful athlete ever. He led the Chicago Bulls to 6 titles in the 1990s, won several MVP awards, and several scoring titles.
